NC reports most new coronavirus cases to date
— Another 2,885 coronavirus infections were reported across North Carolina on Thursday, the highest one-day total in the pandemic. Another 38 people have died of COVID-19, and 1,181 people are hospitalized with the virus statewide, the 23rd straight day that figure has topped 1,000.
97 NC counties and 1 VA county are under alert, including Wake, Cumberland, Durham, Johnston, and Orange counties.
