The third annual Triangle Children's Business Fair isn't until Aug. 18, but young entrepreneurs who want to get involved should mark this date on their calendars: May 1.

That's when applications will open for limited spots at the market, which provides kids ages 6 to 14 an opportunity to showcase their businesses and sell their products.

There will be opportunities for kids to learn more about ways to develop a brand, create a product or service and build a marketing strategy.

What to know about the Triangle Children's Business Fair

Date

The fair is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Aug. 18, at Park West Village in Morrisville.

Application

Applications open May 1 and close July 21. But it's important to know that space is limited and booths are doled out first come, first served. Up to 75 business will be accepted, according to the fair's website.

Details

As part of the application, kids will be asked to think about some elements of their business, including what they'd like to sell, how they plan to advertise before the fair and how will they determine if their business is a success.

Fee

A $40 participation fee is required and will be collected after an application has been accepted, the website says.

Children's Business Fairs are one-day events that are held across the country. And the Morrisville event isn't the only one planned in the Triangle. The Children's Business Fairs' website says others are planned in Holly Springs, Cary, Durham and Raleigh.
A fair in Fayetteville also is scheduled for Sept. 22. Applications are open now for the Fayetteville fair.
