Marbles to host annual bike rodeo Saturday
Get on your bikes and ride on Saturday at Marbles Kids Museum!

RALEIGH, N.C. — Get on your bikes and ride on Saturday at Marbles Kids Museum!
The museum is holding its annual Bike Rodeo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Hargett Street between Blount and Person streets. More activities will be in the Marbles Courtyard and Moore Square.
There will be obstacle courses, bike safety information and a chance for you to make some bling for your bike. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
Note that there will be a limited number of bikes and trikes to borrow. Make sure to bring a helmet.
There will be bike parades at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. starting at the Giant Blue Chair in Moore Square.
Event highlights:
- Bike Blast: Ride, wheel or run your way through the Bike Blast Obstacle Course.
- Traffic Garden: Stop, go, yield... Practice safety while taking a ride on a pretend city street.
- Bike Tune-Up: Get a tune-up from a tech and learn how to care for your bike.
- Bike Bling: Show off your style and bling out your bike and helmet.
- Helmet Fitting: Check your helmet for size and fit.
- Spin the Wheel: Test your bike knowledge.
- Ride the Trails: Learn about parks and trails in our area.
- Wheels and Ramps: Use your imagination to create streets, build ramps and explore how wheels work.
- Rodeo Raffle: Enter to win fun prizes including a bike!
If you're ready to get out on a bike ride with your kids, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends teaching kids these basic bike safety rules:
- Always wear a helmet.
- Ride on the right side, with traffic.
- Use appropriate hand signals.
- Respect traffic signals.
