Marbles celebrates 14th birthday, opens STEAM-focused exhibit

Marbles Kids Museum offers way to play at home
RALEIGH, N.C. — Marbles Kids Museum celebrated its 14th birthday with the opening of its new STEAM-focused exhibit.
Dubbed imagiFAB, the exhibit takes over the second floor of the museum with four special areas that will explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math).

The exhibit is presented by Butner-based children's furniture company Nugget, "Known as the "original play couch," Nuggets can be taken apart and built into different structures.

The four play zones have the following focuses:

  • Create features visual arts, with an all-new collaborative community paint wall.
  • Make houses tools, woodworking stations and found-object crafting.
  • Build offers endless constructions with interlocking blocks and Nuggets.
  • Animate gives kids the chance to upload original artwork into a digital canvas.

Marbles is currently open Wednesday - Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursdays until 7pm. Members can get into the museum an hour early on Wednesdays through Sundays. All visitors are required to purchase a timed-entry ticket in advance.
