Man dies after weekend double shooting in Moore County

Moore County deputies are investigating after a man and woman were injured in a shooting Saturday afternoon.

CAMERON, N.C. — A Moore County man has died after a weekend double shooting in Cameron in which a woman was also wounded.

Quentin Orlando Belk, 32, of Moore County, has died at UNC Hospital after he and an unidentified woman were rushed there for medical treatment on Saturday, the Moore County Sheriff's Office said in a written statement. The woman was listed in serious condition but her identity was not publicly released.

Deputies responded to 118 Helen Lane at about 12:45 p.m. and found the man and woman with gunshot wounds.

First responders said the man had been shot in the head and the woman had been shot in the neck.

Authorities have arrested George Rodrick, of Fayetteville, in connection with the shootings. He was being held without bond. Authorities have said charges are pending against a second person of interest. That suspect's identity was pending.

Deputies said that two people have been taken into custody in connection with the shooting and that the suspects and victims knew each other.

A family member who did not want to be identified told WRAL News that the incident stemmed from a family dispute.
