— Garner police were searching for a man they say wore a Halloween-style mask when he robbed a bank off U.S. Highway 401 Wednesday.

Investigators said the man entered the SunTrust bank, 118 Small Pine Drive, around 4:30 p.m. He displayed a handgun and demanded money.

No one was injured.

Police said the robber fled the scene in a champagne-colored sports-utility vehicle. His direction of travel was unknown.

He wore an old-man mask, green toboggan, burgundy sweatshirt and white gloves.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call the Garner Police Department at 919-772-8810.
