Man wanted in Rocky Mount stabbing

Investigators said that Johnathan Leon Nixon, 19, of 1124 Nashville Road, stabbed Michael Ray Lynch, 17, at Rex and Clark streets shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Police were searching for a suspect in the stabbing of a 17-year-old on Sunday.

Investigators said that Johnathan Leon Nixon, 19, of 1124 Nashville Road, stabbed Michael Ray Lynch at Rex and Clark streets shortly after 1 a.m. Family members took Lynch to Nash General Hospital. He was transported to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville and was in good condition Tuesday.

Warrants have been issued against Nixon for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Nixon might be in the area 4405 Champion Way in Rocky Mount. He has a chrome BMX bike with black rims and silver or chrome pegs.
