LUMBERTON, N.C. — Lumberton police arrested a man wanted by four law enforcement agencies on Sunday.

Police stopped a car matching the description of one driven by Jamal Antonio McRae, 18, on Sunday morning. McRae, who was in the car with two other people, attempted to run, but was caught by police.

Lumberton police charged McRae with first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of kidnapping and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

McRae faces charges of common-law robbery, assault inflicting serious bodily injury and felony conspiracy in Fayetteville. He is also wanted by Red Springs police and the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities suspect McRae and three others of kidnapping two people, trying to kill one and raping the other.

He was taken Sunday to the Robeson County jail where he was held on $400,500 bond.
