Man wanted in drive-by shooting of Durham teen

Durham police have named a suspect in a Sept. 25 drive-by shooting that injured a 17-year-old boy.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police have named a suspect in a Sept. 25 drive-by shooting that injured a 17-year-old boy.

Rashad Lamont Brockington, 22, of Guess Road, is wanted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police said that the victim was walking near Rosedale Avenue and Gunter Street when shots were fired from two vehicles. The teen was treated at Duke University Hospital.

According to state Department of Correction records, Brockington was put on probation in August for drug charges. Brockington has also been convicted of selling drugs and intimidating witnesses, DOC records show.
