Man took 'shooter stance' outside White House before he was shot as Trump spoke inside
Authorities say a 51-year-old man charged an officer, pulled something from his clothes and crouched as though to fire a weapon Monday evening outside the White House.
at approximately 5 53 PM today, the 51 year old male approach the Secret Service uniformed division officer who is standing his post a 17 street and Pennsylvania Avenue northwest near the White House complex. The suspect approached the officer and told the officer he had a weapon. The suspect then turned around, ran aggressively towards the officer in a drawing motion, withdrew an object from his clothing. He then crouched into a shooter stance as this as if he was about to fire a weapon. The Secret Service officer discharged his weapon, striking the individual in the torso. Officers immediately rendered first aid to the suspect and D C fire in the M s were called to the scene. Both the suspect and the officer were transported to a local hospital. The White House complex was never breached during the incident, nor with the Secret Service protective ever in danger.
