Man thrown from car dies in early morning Fayetteville crash

A 31-year-old man died early Friday morning in a crash on Interstate 295 near Raeford Road in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 31-year-old man died early Friday morning in a crash on Interstate 295 near Raeford Road in Fayetteville.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, James Lee Quigley's 2005 Buick LaCrosse crashed into a concrete embankment and was torn in two. Quigley was thrown from his car and pronounced dead at the scene.

At 10:15 a.m., I-295 was still closed between Cliffdale Road and Raeford Road, and traffic was being rerouted down the I-295 off ramp at Cliffdale Road.

The road reopened by 11:45 a.m.
