Man dies after shooting in Fayetteville

A man with life-threatening injuries was taken to the hospital early Friday morning after he was shot in a Fayetteville parking lot.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man who was shot early Friday morning in a Fayetteville parking lot has died, officials said.

Fayetteville police responded around 2:40 a.m. to the 4300 block of Fox Grove Circle to a report of shots fired, officials said. Officers found the victim at the scene who was shot by an unknown suspect. The victim was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The name of the victim was being withheld pending the notification of immediate family members, police said.
