Man suffering serious injuries after Greenville shooting

— A pre-dawn shooting Sunday sent one person to the hospital.

According to WITN, Greenville police responded to a report of a shooting at 2 a.m. at the intersection of 5th Street and Washington Street near Winslow's Tavern. Lt. K.Z. Thomas said one vehicle pulled up next to another, and shots were fired.

Thomas said one person described as a male in his 20s was sent to Vidant Medical Center with what she called severe injuries for treatment. The victim's condition is not known at this time. Thomas said the shooting is still under investigation.
