Officers were called out to a disturbance involving weapons in the area around 4:40 a.m., police said. They found a man who had been shot in the chest.
The victim was pronounced dead at Duke Hospital.
More information, including the identity of the victim, hasn't been released.
Investigators remained at the scene, interviewing witnesses Saturday morning.
