30-year-old man shot several times in east Raleigh dies

Robert Earl Taylor, 30, was shot several times around 10:30 p.m. near the corner of Pettigrew Street and Boyer Street, according to police.

When emergency responders arrived on the scene at Boyer Street, they found Taylor lying outside. He was rushed to a local hospital where he died, officials said.

Encompassed in crime scene tape is the Wesleyan First Church on the corner of Pettigrew and Boyer streets.

Police have not yet identified a suspect.
