Man shot multiple times in Bladen County on Memorial Day

Bladen County deputies are investigating two shootings that happened over the weekend, one that resulted in a man shot multiple times and sent to the hospital.

ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. — Bladen County deputies are investigating two shootings that happened over the weekend, one that resulted in a man shot multiple times and sent to the hospital.

Investigators said they were called to a shooting on Memorial Day at 11 p.m. at 93 Blue Moon Drive near Elizabethtown. They found James Henry Davis, 35, had been shot five times. He was rushed to Cape Fear Valley Bladen County Hospital before being transferred to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He is listed in ICU.

The investigation continues and no additional information has been released.

The other shooting happened at 50 Tina's Lane in Clarkton. Deputies responded to the area Sunday at around 11 p.m. after a caller to 911 said they heard 20 gunshots.

Deputies arrived on the scene and found that the residence had been hit several times. No one was shot during the shooting. No motive was apparent and no warrants have been issued at this time. The investigation is continuing.
