Man charged with murder after deadly shooting at Raleigh gas station
A man has been charged with murder in connection to a Tuesday morning shooting at a gas station on New Bern Avenue.
Posted — UpdatedRaleigh police say a man was shot multiple times Tuesday before 4:15 a.m. while he was trying to get into his car at a gas station in the 1800 block of New Bern Avenue
The man, identified as Devonte Latreal Martin, 27, was taken to WakeMed, where he died from his injuries.
Davon Kareen Allen, 31, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and murder in connection with Martin's death. He was being held in the Wake County Detention Center.
Crime scene tape surrounded the parking lot Tuesday, and evidence markers were placed near multiple shell casings on the ground, indicating many shots were fired.
