Man, woman charged in fatal downtown Raleigh shooting

Two people have been charged in the weekend fatal shooting of a man in downtown Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Two people have been charged in the weekend fatal shooting of a man in downtown Raleigh.

Elliott Cheatham, 43, was shot around 7 p.m. Saturday near the 1100 block of Blount Street. He was transported to WakeMed, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

On Monday, Damon Demont Nicholson, 38, was charged with murder and Andreal Danielle Redmond, 27, was charged with accessory after the fact.

The Raleigh Police Department is investigating the shooting and asks anyone with information to call 919-834-4357.
