Man shot, killed during fight at Fayetteville home

A death investigation was underway Friday at a Fayetteville home.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man was shot and killed during a fight in Fayetteville on Friday.

Police were called to the 2000 block of Poplar Drive around 1:45 a.m. When they arrived, they found Artis Lee Windsor unresponsive. He died at the home.

Damian Christopher Jones, 20, was charged with first-degree murder in Windsor's death.

Police said Windsor and Jones were in a fight when Jones fired a weapon at Windsor, which hit and killed him. The fight was not a random act and there is no threat to the public, according to police.

Jones remained at Cumberland County Detention Center.
