Investigators say a 22-year-old man was walking along the sidewalk around 12:30 a.m. when two people approached him and asked for money.When the man said he didn’t have any money, the people shot him in the leg and fled in a white car. 

The victim was taken to WakeMed Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. 

Police said the victim did not know the people who approached him.
