Man shot in hallway of Durham apartment building

The man was shot before 1:30 a.m. in the hallway inside the Econo Plaza apartments at 3115 Fayetteville St. The building is a dormitory-style apartment building for men provided by Durham Housing Assistance.

Officers said the man was shot once, and the bullet went through his arm.

No one in the apartment knew the man, who was not a resident, so police are working to learn what he was doing there.

The man was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, and an investigation is underway.
