FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A domestic dispute might have led to a shooting that injured a man Saturday night, Fayetteville police said.

Jerry Dale Martin Jr., 23, was shot once in the stomach in the 1500 block of Mawood Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m., police said. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Witnesses told investigators that Martin and his 48-year-old mother were fighting before the shooting.

Police said they had one person in custody in connection with the shooting, but they declined to release details, including the names of those involved.
