Man shot in Fayetteville after being followed by vehicle

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One person was shot Thursday afternoon on Tillman Court near Lakeway Drive in the Arran Lakes subdivision.

The victim and two females were traveling in a vehicle when they noticed they were being followed, Fayetteville police said. The victim’s vehicle stopped on Tillman Court, and when the victim inquired regarding why they were being followed, he was shot by the person following them, police said.

The victim was taken to the Kangaroo convenience store at the intersection of Hope Mills and Cumberland roads in his vehicle as the female occupants dialed 911. He was then transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was last listed in serious condition.

The victim's name, as well as a detailed description of the suspect and suspect vehicle, were not immediately available.
