— Two people were shot on Sunday during a party at a Harnett County home.

Around 3:30 a.m., officers with the Dunn Police Department responded to a shooting at a home on 1207 N. Railroad Street.

Police said at least one suspect fired gunshots in a crowd of people who were attending a party at the home.

Xavier Shaquan Gayle, of Erwin, was shot in the face and transported to WakeMed with life-threatening injuries, where he is listed in critical condition.

Another victim, John Junior Harris, was transported to Betsy Johnson Hospital for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to both legs.

Investigators do not believe the shooting to be a random act of violence, though the motive of the shooting is unknown.
