A man was shot in the ankle while walking in Raleigh near St. Augustine Ave. and Pender Street on Saturday night.

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — A man was shot in the ankle while walking in Raleigh near St. Augustine Ave. and Pender Street on July 4.

Raleigh Police received a call about the shooting around 10:55 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who was injured. He was transported to WakeMed and his injury was not life-threatening.

The man said he heard a gunshot ring before he felt the bullet hit him.

Officials said a follow-up investigation is underway.
