FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are searching for the gunman who fired shots Tuesday afternoon at a Circle K.

On Tuesday at 12:53 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the Circle K at the intersection of Raeford Road and Strickland Bridge Road.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect had stolen items from the location on Monday.

When he arrived at the Circle K on Tuesday afternoon, the manager refused to serve him. The suspect became irate and began to throw items at employees before firing his weapon at them.

A verbal fight ensued, leading to the suspect to fire his weapon again.

No one was hurt. No one is in custody at this time.

Plywood on Wednesday covered one window hit by bullets.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Detective K. Glass at 910-605-1957.

If you want to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477 or by visiting Fayetteville CrimeStoppers.

Sgt. Alpha Caldwell said she was shocked that no one was hurt given the circumstances.

"To be randomly shooting like that and no one was hurt," Caldwell said. "Yeah, it could have been very bad."
