Man's body found in Kerr Lake

At about 4 a.m. Sunday, Vance County deputies responded to a report of an abandoned pickup and trailer on a boat ramp at Henderson Point Recreation. A boat was found nearby along the shoreline of the lake with its lights still on, authorities said.

About four hours later, the body of Linville Evans, of 14 Allen Road in Louisburg, was found in 7 to 9 feet of water, authorities said.

The case remains under investigation, and authorities were unsure if Evans drowned or died of natural causes and fell into the lake.
