Cause of death ruled accidental for Goldsboro man found in dumpster

Police in Goldsboro identified on Tuesday the body of a man found in a dumpster on April 1.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Police in Goldsboro identified on Tuesday the body of a man found in a dumpster on April 1.

On April 1 around 6 p.m., officers responded to a parking lot near 1101 N. Berkley Blvd. and found the body inside a dumpster.

The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office, where it was identified as Edward Earl Webb Jr., 38. On Friday, the Chief Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death as accidental.

No further information or investigation was expected in this case.
