Man runs from traffic stop, hit by vehicle

Raleigh, N.C. — A man being stopped on suspicion of DWI jumped out of his car, ran into oncoming traffic and was struck by a vehicle early Saturday, Raleigh police said.
Officers said they tried to pull over Alejnadro Figueroa Bailon, 18, after spotting him driving along Poole Road, at Barwell Road, around 1 a.m. Bailon stopped, but jumped out of his car and ran. He went into oncoming traffic on Poole Road, and a vehicle struck him, police said.
Bailon had non-life-threatening injuries.
Police charged Bailon with obstructing or delaying justice and operating a motor vehicle without a license. He was being processed at the Wake County Jail later Saturday morning.
Police said they will not charge the driver who hit Bailon.
