Man robbed in Durham shopping center parking lot; suspect sought

Durham police are asking for information about an armed robbery Tuesday in the parking lot of a shopping center.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are asking for information about an armed robbery that happened Tuesday night in the parking lot of a shopping center.

Investigators said a man was talking on his cellphone around 10:30 p.m. at Greenwood Commons Shopping Center, 5410 N.C. Highway 55 near Sedwick Road, when someone approached him, put a gun to his head and robbed him of the phone, his wallet and cash.

The suspect was described as being between 20 to 30 years old and standing 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet tall. He had short hair and a patch of hair on his chin. He was wearing a light T-shirt, dark calf-length shorts, tennis shoes and a white bandana on his head. He fled in a dark four-door sedan.
