Holly Springs, N.C. — A man facing murder charges pleaded not guilty Thursday to setting a fire that killed his landlord at a home in Holly Springs in February.
James Brewington Jr., 34, was arraigned on first-degree murder charges stemming from the Feb. 11 fire. His next court date was set for Nov. 5.
Authorities said Brewington set an overnight fire at a house on Sunset Lake Road and Holly Springs Road, killing James Baggett.
Brewington rented from the home, which Baggett owned.
