<b>MOMEYER, N.C.</b> — A man pled guilty this week to murder and kidnapping charges dating back to 2017.

According to the Nash County Sheriff's Office, Shantonio Lucas, 26, pled guilty in court on Thursday to one-count of second-degree murder and one-count of first-degree kidnapping.

A body was found along U.S. Highway 64 in Nash County on Monday evening, but authorities were unable to identify it as a missing woman they have been searching for.

On Sept. 5, 2017, officials found a woman's body near U.S. Highway 64 and N. Old Franklin Road. The woman, identified as Glorika Cherta Townsend, had been reported missing a few days earlier.

Lucas was sentenced to a total of anywhere from 37 to 47 years in prison.
