One person died in a shooting near downtown Raleigh on Monday night.




<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — One person died in a shooting near downtown Raleigh on Monday night.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, two people were shot in the 500 block of East Edenton Street, behind a home being used as an apartment building, around 10:20 p.m.

Police did not identify the man who died. The other victim, a woman, will recover from her injuries, police said.

Information on a motive or gunman was not released by police.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-HELP.

At 10:13 p.m., officers responded to Duke University Hospital after four people, three men and a woman, walked into the hospital with gunshot wounds. One man was pronounced dead shortly, after arriving at the hospital.
