Man killed in motorcycle crash on Durham Freeway

A motorcyclist died in a crash on the Durham Freeway late Sunday night.

DURHAM, N.C. — A motorcyclist died in a crash on the Durham Freeway late Sunday night.

The crash occurred before 8:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes near Exit 2 for Davis Drive.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the 44-year-old motorcyclist was speeding when he lost control, ran off the road and hit a median cable barrier.

His identity was not provided.

The road was closed until 11:30 p.m. after the crash.
