Man killed in high-speed crash in Raleigh

State Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene of a single-car crash around 11:50 p.m. A 2001 Ford passenger vehicle operated by Jerry Deshawn Williams, 22, of Fuquay Varina, was traveling north on Lake Wheeler Road when he traveled off the roadway and struck a tree, authorities said.

Authorities said the car was traveling at speeds over 100 mph when it ran off road and rolled onto its side.
