Man killed in Fayetteville three-vehicle crash

Kenneth Jerome Gamble Jr., 38, was driving a 2011 Hyundai in a southbound lane of Old Wilmington Road when he collided with a Ford pickup truck driven by Stanley Britt, 54, authorities said. The impact of the crash caused Gamble's car to hit a 2007 Kia, driven by Rufus Herbert McLean, 67, who was waiting to turn right on to Eastern Boulevard.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man was killed Wednesday in a three-vehicle crash at Eastern Boulevard and Old Wilmington Road.

Kenneth Jerome Gamble Jr., 38, was driving a 2011 Hyundai in a southbound lane of Old Wilmington Road when he collided with a Ford pickup truck driven by Stanley Britt, 54, authorities said. The impact of the crash caused Gamble's car to hit a 2007 Kia, driven by Rufus Herbert McLean, 67, who was waiting to turn right on to Eastern Boulevard.

Gamble was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he died of his injuries.

Neither McLean nor Britt were injured, police said.

The crash is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call the traffic office at 910-433-1036.
