Man killed in drive-by shooting in Durham

Durham police are investigating after one man was killed and two others were wounded in a Saturday night shooting.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating after one man was killed and two others were wounded in a Saturday night shooting.

Police said officers responded to the 800 block of Berwyn Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. and found a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

The man was identified by police as Samuel Claude Winston, 54, of Durham.

Two other men later arrived at an area hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds and were later released.

No suspects were in custody Saturday night and police did not release a motive for the shooting.

Police said the incident was a drive-by shooting.
