RALEIGH, N.C. — One person was killed and two others were injured Thursday in two nightclub shootings just three miles apart in northeast Raleigh.

The first shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. outside of the Bison Bar on Whitaker Mill Road.

Police reports obtained by WRAL say a 36-year-old Raleigh man and 40-year-old woman from Clayton were both shot. Police say the man is in critical condition at WakeMed after being was shot in the head while the woman, who was reportedly shot in the neck, was also taken to the hospital.

As of Friday, a suspect had not been identified.

Bison Bar said it would be closed for business on Thursday, and employees were looking into how to "provide a safe and inclusive environment for all people that love our bar."

One hour later and just three miles away, Devon Maleek Boswer, 28, was shot and killed at Club Amnesia, located at 1606 North Market Drive.

Limited details were available.

The clubs are only five minutes away, but the shootings are not thought to be connected at this time.

In 2018, two people were shot in the parking lot of Club Amnesia, which is off Wake Forest Road. In May, a woman who worked at the club was found dead in a silver sedan in a parking lot five miles away.

Data obtained by WRAL News shows, including the two shootings on Thursday, there have been 28 aggravated assault calls within a 1 mile radius of Bison Bar since January 2020.
