RALEIGH, N.C. — Police were working to find the person who shot a man on Glenwood Avenue early Saturday morning.

A man was rushed to WakeMed around 2 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the arm. Raleigh police said he had non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting happened at North West Street and West North Street, in the Glenwood South entertainment district on the edge of downtown Raleigh, as nearby bars and restaurants were closing.

A man sitting in his car near the shooting said he heard one gunshot that “sounded like a cannon” and then saw people running from the area.

In February, a 30-year-old man was fatally shot in a Glenwood Avenue parking deck.

The deck is a popular parking area for people visiting restaurants, bars and nightclubs in the Glenwood South area.
