GARNER, N.C. — A man injured in a Goldsboro shooting has been charged with murder in the deaths of two other men involved in the incident.

Officers responded just before 3 a.m. on Nov. 18 after hearing gunfire in the 600 block of Second Street. Shortly after, three people arrived at Wayne Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds, police said.

Authorities identified the victims as Carlis Benton, 38, Carlos Darden, 42, and Joshua Davis, 30. Benton and Darden died at the hospital, and Davis sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Davis was arrested Friday at a Garner hotel and charged with two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Benton and Darden.

Davis was being held at the Wayne County jail without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
