Man injured in alcohol-related crash on Christmas Eve
One man was injured in a crash on Christmas eve after swerving off the road and into a ditch in Wake Forest, according to officials.
Posted — UpdatedWAKE FOREST, N.C. — One man was injured in a crash on Christmas eve after swerving off the road and into a ditch in Wake Forest, according to officials.
The crash happened off NC-98 near Deerfield Crossing Drive around 6 p.m. Investigators say alcohol and wet weather was a factor in the crash.
North Carolina State Trooper Travis Thomas said there is usually an uptick in alcohol-related crashes around the holidays.
"One drink is too many," Thomas said.
If you're going to drink, Thomas says "get a friend to drive you, it’s always better to get a ride home instead of driving your vehicle."
