LUMBERTON, N.C. — Federal law enforcement authorities have been called in to help find a Lumberton girl whose kidnapping from the front yard of her family's mobile home Monday morning prompted an Amber Alert.

According to officers with the Lumberton Police Department, Hania Noelia Aguilar, 13, was snatched while she was standing outside her family's home in the Rosewood Mobile Home Park located at 3525 E. Elizabethtown Road. The girl is an eighth grader at Lumberton Junior High School.

Police say the man forced the girl into her family's green 2002 Ford Expedition, which is registered to Velasquez Hernandez of Summerville, S.C. The SUV, which has South Carolina license plate NWS-984, was seen leaving the mobile home community Monday morning.

New details released about the SUV on Tuesday include that it has a Clemson sticker on the rear window and peeling paint on the hood.

Witnesses said the suspect was wearing a black hoodie and had a yellow bandana over his face.

Heylin Perez, Hania's sister, said the abducted girl wanted to go outside and start the family's SUV but her aunt told the teen not to start the vehicle. But the girl did anyway.

"She just got the keys and started to turn it on," Heylin said. "And somewhere out of nowhere the man came in and took her away."

She said they heard Hania screaming during the abduction attempt.

The suspect vehicle is a Green 2002 Ford Expedition with SC license tag number NWS-984.

Aguilar is 5 feet tall and weighs 126 pounds, according to authorities.

She has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a blue shirt with flowers and blue jeans.

Authorities believe the paint on the hood of stolen SUV is peeling and the vehicle has a Clemson sticker on a rear window.

For much of the day, access to the mobile home community was restricted to residents only. Officers went door to door asking residents what they saw or heard.

Call 911 if you see the vehicle. The Lumberton Police Department has set up a special tip line to call if you have information to help investigators find Hania at 910-272-5871.
