Roxboro, N.C. — One man is in custody after an armed, three-hour standoff with officers.
What started off as authorities executing an arrest warrant for narcotics and illegal firearms turned into an evening standoff in Person County.
The incident took place off of Dennys Store Road near the Allensville Volunteer Fire Department.
Jason Wilborn with the Person County Sheriffs' Office described the scene.
"We had a special response team on the scene they had the house surrounded, front door, back door on each side, so they were monitoring the situation and relaying any information to us up at command," Wilborn said.
Wilborn is grateful that the incident ended without anyone getting hurt.
"We had one female deputy here who talked with him on the phone, along with his grandmother trying to talk him out [of the house]," Wilborn said.
Officers haven't released the name of the man.
