Man in critical condition after Fayetteville shooting

A man was in critical condition Sunday morning hours after a shooting.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man was in critical condition Sunday morning hours after a shooting.

Around 6 a.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the 200 block of Ruritan Drive, where callers said a man had been shot in the street.

Police found a 36-year-old man suffering from five gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital and was listed in critical condition.

Investigators said a suspect inside a dark four-door sedan was driving toward the victim with the headlights turned off. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene.
