Man hospitalized in Raleigh shooting

Raleigh police said officers responded to the 4600 block of Punjab Street just before 5:30 p.m. in response to a shooting.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 35-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday evening following a shooting on a Raleigh street.

Raleigh police said officers responded to the 4600 block of Punjab Street just before 5:30 p.m. in response to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found Dontae Lamar Lewis. He was taken to WakeMed for non-life threatening injuries.

Police do not believe the shooting was random and an investigation was underway.
