Man found safe after kidnapping in Fayetteville

A man is safe Friday after police say he was kidnapped from his home.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man is safe after police say he was kidnapped from his home Thursday night.

Around 11 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a home in the 1000 block of Cobra Drive, where a home invasion and kidnapping were reported.

Police said Joshua Dashawn Smith 35, broke into the home and forced another adult, Desmond L. Dorsey, 30, into his car at gunpoint.

License plate cameras located Smith's car, and the driver was arrested behind a home in the the 7000 block of Jericho Drive. Dorsey was found safe.
