— A man was found shot to death in a room at a motel late Tuesday, police said.

Officers responded to a "shots fired" call at Hall Orr's Motel and found that Devin Scriven had been shot three times and killed, police said.

Witnesses told police they saw a four-door, green or dark blue, mid-1990s Honda Accord leaving the motel around the time of the shooting. Two people were in the car, which was headed north on U.S. Highway 301 toward the Battleboro community, witnesses said.

A possible suspect was described as a black man with a medium complexion, about 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 160 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a light green T-shirt and dark, baggie-style, knee-length shorts.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 252-977-1111 or Capt. Martin McCoy of the Rocky Mount Police Department at 252-972-1485.
