Man Faces Charges in Chatham Co. Accident

A man flown to Duke University Hospital after a single-vehicle accident in Chatham County is facing charges.

MONCURE, N.C. — A man flown to Duke University Hospital after a single-vehicle accident in Chatham County is facing charges.

The accident occurred in the 3300 block of Corinth Road in Moncure shortly before 7:30 p.m. Friday, police said. The vehicle flipped over several times before coming to a rest.

Police said driver James Dwayne Echols, 47, suffered head injuries. He was air lifted to Duke University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Saturday night.

Echols faces charges for careless and reckless driving, police said.
