RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman charged with murder in a fatal stabbing at a Raleigh apartment last month was the girlfriend of the victim, according to a search warrant released Thursday.
Khadija Renee Johnson, 23, of 901 Chalk Level Road in Durham, was charged earlier this month with murder in the death of Adedayo Oke Odifa.

Odifa, 32, was stabbed in the chest at the River Haven Apartments complex, in the 4800 block of River Stream Way, on April 14. He died at WakeMed.

According to a search warrant, Johnson told authorities that she and Odifa were arguing about Facebook messages she received from male friends asking to meet her.

Friends of Johnson told police that she had previously pulled a knife on Odifa, frequently watched the TV show “How to Get Away with Murder” on Netflix and told friends she was going to kill her boyfriend.

According to the warrant, Johnson called and did a video chat with her aunt, telling her aunt she had stabbed Odifa. Johnson called 911 after her aunt told her to contact police, the warrant said.

Officers who arrived at the scene and attempted to perform CPR on Odifa said they heard Johnson make statements including “I did it” and “I am sorry,” the warrant states.
