Man dies after being struck by Jeep on US-70 in Durham
The State Highway Patrol and deputies in Durham County are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.

DURHAM, N.C. — The State Highway Patrol and deputies in Durham County are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.
The crash occurred early Thursday on Pleasant Drive near U.S. Highway 70.
Officials said U.S. 70 and a portion of Pleasant Drive was closed after a man in his 40s trying to cross the roadway was hit by a gold Jeep and killed.
The person died at the scene and was not transported to a hospital.
Officials said the crash was not a hit-and-run. No charges have been filed for the driver at this time.
By 7:30 a.m., all lanes had reopened.
